I am grateful for the many blessings that tai chi and qigong have brought and continue to bring to my life. The yin of gentle movement, flowing and acceptance teaches me to bring these qualities to my life. The yang of discipline, following the principles and personal practice provide a path in uncertain times. Qigong and Tai Chi provide a ritual of self-care, allowing me to tend to my physical, mental and emotional health. My wonder at the simplicity and powerful nature of tai chi and qigong continues to grow through the years and with continued practice. What is basic takes time and practice to attempt to master. The ritual of practice and the joy of discovery when something just feels right are fulfilling. And then there’s tai chi people! Tai chi has brought so many wonderful people into my life. I’ve been blessed to study with many talented and knowledgeable teachers and attempt to incorporate what they have taught me both into my own practice and my sharing with others. My students are a gift! The joy of sharing these arts and the communal energy in class is something I treasure. How wonderful to be able to pass this forward. Indeed, it seems like a web of energy that connects people and allows us to pass the benefits forward. Those benefits may be the practice itself, or the results of studying these arts – a sense of calm, community, compassion.
